Following the great success of the previous ALICE editions with each time more registration requests than places, this interventional neuroradiology course moved to a new venue in the prestigious Philharmonie in Essen in 2016. Now, we were in the same room again.
The meeting encompassed again three days of live surgery transmissions from the brand new 'Neurolounge 2' in the Afried Krupp hospital, alternating with expert lectures and discussion sessions in the RWE Saal. We filmed, recorded and transmitted every detail of every procedure, giving the audience an almost better view of details than the interventionists themselves. The conference venue was rigged, draped and installed with a huge LED-screen offering the brightest images, even in daylight !!
For this edition and because of sponsorship reasons, there was no parallel session to China. On the other hand, we had a live case transmission from Limoges (FR) as a second live location on Monday and we had the live streaming of the event.
In this way, ALICE remains one of the major intracranial endovascular courses in Europe and even worldwide, and the educational value of live interactivity during procedures is no small contributor to this.Essen
