At this edition our activities are concentrated in a huge hall along the dockside of the London ExCeL conference centre.
There are no live case transmissions this year, but we produced a lot of prerecorded videos in different formats (medical video, patient interview, doctors' interaction...).
In "Hyde Park" we build a massive curved screen of 6 x 26 meters again and the room is also round with only few "walls". In the same part of the hall mediAVentures also build 5 mediAVentures-style I/O-Forums, our open circular meeting rooms with central stages. They host all kind of presentations and other interactive sessions.
The big new thing that we do this year is the further "digitalisation" of part of the Poster Area. Besides a full sized (480 poster positions) "analog" poster area we install 9 eMP "islands". These electronic Moderated Poster islands are clusters of 7 plasma displays each, mounted on a special mediAVentures style construction with lots of glass and stuff, and a big rear projection screen, where a total of 441 electronic Moderated Posters will be displayed and presented. Besides these eMP islands we will also have 9 (one for each topic) Best Poster stations. These are 4K (!) screens that display 4 posters, visible and readable all the time and that can be navigated through using the famous joystick too.
We also have a new style open meeting room, called Agora, in the middle of the Poster Area, that should attract a younger audience with pop-up style presentations. Another crazy thing that we do this year is building a unique 175 m long by 3.5 m high glass wall to acoustically insulate our meeting room areas from the Exhibition. Above this wall more than 1.000 (!!!) sound baffles are suspended... We have been working very hard on the concept and its initial assembling and we believe that this is a very successful example of mediAVentures' creativity.Go to album
