In 2009, The FOCUS Sessions at the annual congress of the European Society of Cardiology are one of our main projects. Two huge conference rooms, completely "built" by us, hosting each 10 one-and-a-half-hour sessions on different "hot topics" in cardiology: basically we have to provide AV for 20 symposia in three days.
Many of those symposia feature extensive live surgery transmissions, from centers all over Europe (this year, we will transmit from Spain (Barcelona, Barcelona and Madrid), France (Paris) and Belgium (Liège), and all those transmissions will be done of course in Full High-Definition Video - our standard.
The enormous Poster Zone, which was a big success last year, will be enlarged. Our 3-dimensional ideas on how to mix projection, led-lighting and (traditional and moderated) posters are optimal combined in this concept.
New this year is that we refurbish the 'Cardiac Anatomy' room where live video demonstrations and hands-on workshop on heart specimens are held. Of course we install our special 'boom camera' to give the attendees the most optimal view on the demo's.
As if we can't get enough, we also install an e-library corner where people can consult missed oral abstracts or pre-arranged programme sessions.
Needless to say that the logistics associated with this project are huge. As well as in the area of personnel (more than 70 persons involved), material (11 huge trucks will roll direction Barca) and organisation. All this ensures our performance reflects our enthusiasm.
