In preparation of the upcoming Technocollege congress we are asked to do a live-on-disk recording at the Herzzentrum in Leipzig. We send a dedicated team with equipment into the OR to shoot and record immediately the live images onto a hard-disk. The complete case, from sternotomy to the closure of the apical incision (or later) just as during a real live case transmission will be captured on disk.
This means that we can mix the images of the surgical boomcamera (over the shoulder view), of a mobile camera that captures the preparation of the valve and the manupilation of the instruments, an additional camera for external overviews, the fluoroscopy (if used), the TEE and the hemodynamics (rapid pacing e.g.).
The surgeon will have a wireless microphone to give comments that can be used during editing as well.
A few days later, in our studios at home, we'll edit the images into one or more nice clips.
