After seven “biblical” years of OLV-College with a sternal-sparing and endoscopic message, the eighth “College” wants to be a “hinge”-event towards a new era of beating heart and transcatheter valvular interventions.
In 2008 the eighth OLV-College remains a “boutique” style workshop that features a three-day course with several live-surgeries.
There will be several honoured guests to analyze the novel techniques of transfemoral and transapical aortic interventions that cardiologists and cardiac surgeons are likely to come across much more in the upcoming amazing seven years.
This highly successfull course has been audiovisually supported by mediAVentures since years. We have always succeeded in providing the best quality images, not only by using our special dedicated "boom" cameras, carrying the latest and highest definition remote controlled video cameras (sometimes the camera "sees" better than the surgeon himself !), but also because we know excatly whàt we are filming: our medical video staff (still active MD's) follow the operation either from behind the boom camera or at the video control room, and can always anticipate one or two steps, so the "action" is never missed.
All these live surgeries are filmed, transmitted and projected in full (1080p) High Definition video, ensuring a breath-taking visual experience.
